itty bitty blessing

october 25th, 3am or so, cooper tim dudley came into the world! we are so happy to have him here, and mother and brother and sister have been bugging me for pictures. so here we go!josh- sooo pumped to have a little bruth!

also: today after fhe i was in wal-mart, and as always, i wandered over to the 5 dollar movie bin, not really counting on finding anything good. some man, dressed in baggy clothes with lots of red hair and a big red beard, was talking to his friend, saying something about "it's only five bucks!" i stop by the bin and he turns and looks at me and says... "are you five bucks too?"
call him a creep. tell him to take a shower and mind his own business. but it made my day.

prairie boy.

a picture may be worth a thousand words, but seriously, a fourty gig memory card and the fanciest canon could not describe the pure ecstasy i felt after this night.
-the smallest venue. like, 40 people and the hurtin' albertans.
-3 bucks!
-21 and older ONLY. but the kind doorman let me in! i love him
-i was right within arms reach for the entire encore. truck got stuck, counterfeit blues, and others.

the iphone was the only camera we had on hand. and with all the fancy crap those things have, you would think the camera had a flash. aaah well.

i just had the hardest time falling asleep that night.
corb really gets me.

the honk honk and the vroom vroom

it's no midas, but he'll have to do!
hooray!

i wanna be in the cavalry.

so i'm checking my e-mail the other day, and i see in my junk mail one from the corb lund band fan club. i love corb, so i open it. oh joy, i think to myself, he's just announcing tour dates, none of which will be anywhere near where i am.

BUT WAIT! WHAT IS THIS?! BOISE IDAHO!?

i almost died. it made my month. he will be playing a small venue this saturday, and for only three bucks! i don't have any friends in boise, so i'm going by myself. but let me tell you, i couldn't be happier.
not to mention the bsu vs. hawaii game TODAY, and kara's mom is here helping out, so i get a break! my life is gooood.
here's my boy in july 07. me and tanner went to see him in calgary and it was awesome!

the big picture.

i love the feeling that someone has always got my back.
on september first i was really questioning why i was in boise. there was things at home i was missing out on; puppies being born, parties with friends and family get-togethers. i was really sad that i wasn't going to be there to see max go through his first year of high school, playing football and everything! (such a mother hen..) and of course you all know my patriotism to raymond. you just can't keep me away.
but now, a lot of stuff has happened, and this is where i ought to be. aunt kara has been put on bedrest, due to complete placenta previa. which is when the placenta is completely covering the cervix. aka. ROADBLOCK. nothing is getting out. so... automatic c-section. and any pressure on the placenta could cause contractions, early labor, and essentially a premature baby. all of which is bad news for her november 24 due date.
did i mention we moved into a new house? oh, because we did. i've been packing up crap for a few weeks now and on saturday everything got moved to the new place, 3 blocks away. it's so so pretty. a million windows with the BEST view of the hills. (i think my room has the best view. tehe.) today we got most of the stuff put away and its starting to feel like a home.
so i guess that's what i've been up to. feeling REALLY good about my decision to move to boise. i have to give all the credit to the Big Guy though. he really knows what he's doing!

dreams.

not the aspiring kinds. not the ones you have when your a kid, to grow up and swim with mermaids and ride on white unicorns with rainbow tails.
not even the kinds you have when you're sleeping. when your subconscious and the toast and hot chocolate you had before bed make you believe, for a second, that you're family moved across town and your new neighbors are made of chocolate.
i guess i'm not really talking about dreams. i guess i'm taking about nightmares. of which i have been having a lot of lately. i don't know what it is about boise, but it's freaking me out.

wednesday, october 1- carrie speed, ashley dudley, karly zobrist, and other hawaii friends. here in boise. driving down one of the little streets on our way home from downtown/ the chiropractic office. one of those streets where there is only cute, cottagey houses and a million trees. the road has 2 lanes. i spaced out while driving, and swerved into a car driving beside me. when i hit it, i thought it just took off my mirror and made a scrape on the little black volkswagon golf (my dream car. literally i guess.) fixable, i thought. but then i looked over, and there was a decapitated female hanging out the driver side window. it was gore. blood and guts. her head was almost completely detached from her neck. blood everywhere. her arms looked like all her bones where shattered. bent every which way. and a man in the passenger seat, just sitting there, looking at her. i stared at the woman... cars on autopilot...

and then i woke up.
